Free Printable - Latitude Artwork

In keeping with my make-it-short-and-sweet mentality of blog posting, I wanted to share another recent artwork update in the house. Today you're looking at the newest artwork change in the guest bathroom upstairs.

Previously, I put a bird on it. The bright magenta bird packed too big of a punch, and I made the executive decision to take this bathroom to a more put-together and clean color palette. Enter grey and yellow.
The bathroom is also rocking this West Elm bath mat in navy blue, plus these fun Nate Berkus towels. Together, they give this space what I'll call a modern-nautical vibe:
Fez Bath Mat, 23Nate Berkus™ Ikat Link Bath Towel
I decided to make a little bit of artwork. I did it in Photoshop, and got the background of my print to echo the herringbone design of the bath mat. A little tonal grey-on-grey never hurt anyone. :)

I'll switch out the strong black frame for a wood one next to continue with the nautical theme.
Up close -- can you see the herringbone? Love.

But wait, I made a version so you can make your own personal one (easily) too!

First a shameless plug: if you use this artwork or like what you see, please Follow Me!

Now. Get yours:
1) Download the Microsoft Word doc here. (Click the link or Right-click and select "Save As")
2) Figure out your home's latitude coordinates. I used this site.
3) Edit the Word document to reflect yours (you can change fonts and colors, too!).

** Image size will print approximately 8"x10"**

These coordinates, with my longitude, put us somewhere near Huntsville, Alabama. If this is your house's location.... double-score.

Voila! Easy, personal, DIY artwork and you didn't break a sweat.

Thanks for stopping by! If you're a fan of free printables, I have some other popular ones you might want to check out here and here.

One Masterpiece A Day: Day 7

Success! I just created one piece of artwork - a masterpiece, if you will - every day for a week to fill my empty gallery wall frames. I shared every print with you - free printablesI'm excited that a lot of you told me how you used the artwork I've made over the past few days. If you did, send me a photo of it on your walls, or leave a comment with a link to your own blog post showing your newly filled frames!

If you missed the earlier part of this week, never fear. Check out the rest of the week right over here! (Sorry, did not intend to rhyme. But you know how much I love rhyming.) I'm a little sad to see such a productive week go, but all good things come to an end. The flowers in my bud vase are also looking a little worse for the wear.  :) Thank you for sticking through this week with me!

Today's piece was inspired by some of the latest West Elm flower vases. It's a challenge for me to keep flowers alive-- I just learned this Spring that you're not supposed to put half of the seeds in the packet in one peat pot. Since black, brown, and dead is often characteristic of my gardening attempts, so with this print, I'm definitely poking a little fun at myself (and all of you fellow black thumbs out there)!

Masterpiece #7: Flowers on Water

One Masterpiece A Day: Day 6

If you missed my earlier posts, I am creating one masterpiece (a term I like to use loosely with my artwork) every day, for a week. Guess what? You get to have that very same wall art! You heard right: free printables. Check out the rest of the week right over here!

Masterpiece #6: A House is Built of Bricks and Beams (A Home is Built of Love and Dreams)
Sized 16" x 16" and 6" x 8"

Excuse the cheesy title. I found it by accident when I was looking for a house-related quote, and it was so rhyme-y and funny I couldn't resist. No good story today, just a love for chevron and houses!

One Masterpiece A Day: Day 5

Hey all, hope you had a great Fourth of July weekend! It seems like it's back to the grind (I say this as I'm running out the door myself).

If you've missed my previous posts, I am creating one masterpiece (a term I like to use loosely with my artwork) every day, for a week. Why is this amazing? Because you get to have that very same wall art! Yep: free printables. Check out the rest of the week right over here!

Welcome to Day 5!
Waiting for some July 4th fireworks

As you might know, Ben and I are really into running. Lately we've been riding our bikes around town, and we even outfitted our bikes with nearly-blinding halogen headlamps for those rare night rides (sorry cars, but I prefer to be visible!). We had some pretty nasty storms come through Indiana on the July 3rd, so last night was the rain date for the city's and several neighborhoods' fireworks displays. At the last minute, we decided to pack a little bag, ride our bikes out to a nearby neighborhood, and lay out a blanket to watch the fireworks from Sherwood Oaks Church. We were so close we could smell the sulfur and see them shooting off from the ground! Even better, since we were on bikes, we didn't have to wait an hour to get out of the parking lot to go home. Riding our bikes around town has been so much more fun than I thought it'd be -- it reminds me of being a kid and feeling so free to go wherever I wanted! Today's art reflects that, and you don't have to be a kid to enjoy a good bike ride.

Masterpiece #4: Bike Tetris
Sized 15" x 15"

If you're curious, I made this print by using our own bikes as guides. I started by taking a picture of each of our bikes, then placing the image in Photoshop. From there, I just drew lines over the bikes, deleted the original image, did the copy-paste dance, and poof - instant bike art. Our bikes!

Making our bikes into a print
While I was messing around with the bike images, I created a "happy mistake" print, which I'm throwing in as a bonus download (at the bottom). Happy riding!

One Masterpiece A Day: Day 3

This week, I'm forcing myself to finally fill our frame gallery walls in both my master bedroom and dining area. I promised myself I'd create one masterpiece (a term I use loosely) every day, for the next week. And guess what? You get to have some of my artwork for yourself, too! That's right: free printables. Check out the rest of the week so far and have at it !

Sunday, Sunday - Day 3!
Right after Ben and I bought our first house in Indianapolis, we made a trip to Home Depot, where we spotted an impossibly cute set of two little round birds (if you saw how chubby they were, you'd understand why I termed them "roundies"). They were intended as outdoor dining table accessories.... I think. I decided they were so hilarious and round that I brought both of them home with me that day, and they now live happily and comfortably as indoor birds in our current house. Every time I see a round bird, I think of our first trip to Home Depot as new homeowners and it reminds me of how excited we were/are to have such a nice place to call home.

Masterpiece #3: Little Roundies
Sized 12" x 16" silhouette on printed pattern

Like yesterday, you have your choice of colors. Look closely - two prints have hearts, the other ones are just plain roundies!

Wanna see how it looks on my gallery wall?

Of course, there's still a ways to go.  But... progress! Does it always feel this good?

One Masterpiece A Day: Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of One Masterpiece A Day! Like I said yesterday, this week is about creating seven new pieces of art to hang on my empty gallery walls... I committed to creating one masterpiece (a term used loosely) a day for the next week. And guess what? You get to download my printable artwork each day to use yourself. That's right: free printables. ENJOY!

Since my original may not have as much meaning to you (read on below), I did a little revamp that's just as fun. Let's go back to yesteryear -- you know... 2005, when people were just starting to figure out texting-shorthand. Remember when everyone thought "lol" meant "lots of love?" Sure. It can today.

Here is today's masterpiece, Lots of Love, and you get your choice of any of these colors. [That poor flower...I forgot to put water in its bud vase last night!]

Masterpiece #2: LOL
Sized 5.5"x7.5" text and handwriting

2) Download the file by clicking the color you like, below.
3) (Extra credit:) Leave a comment and let me know you enjoyed it!

This is mushy, so read on at your own risk. I actually created a completely different version that is a little more relevant to us. When I'm traveling for work, every night, at the end of our right-before-bed phone call, the script goes like this:

Steph: Good night!
Ben: Good night.
S: I love you!
B: I love you.... bye.
S: Bye!
.... for some reason, I have to be the last one to say "bye." (Type A much?) So that's why the print hanging on the wall above the bed looks like this:

But now, you can enjoy one that's just as lovey and mushy as ours.

One Masterpiece A Day: Day 1

I considered it a win when I finally mustered up the motivation to hang some frames. Now, I have these gallery walls in the house that are filling up space -- but they're just empty. It was a good start to get the frames arranged and on the wall (which was half the battle), and Pinterest was very helpful for finding wall gallery layout ideas.

All of these frames are e.m.p.t.y. Empty. It's time to get on this artwork project already!  I'm committing to creating one masterpiece (a term used loosely) a day for the next week. And guess what? You benefit because I'm posting all of my printable artwork for you to download and use yourself. That's right: free printables. ENJOY!

Masterpiece #1: I Heart You Times A Million
15" x 15" hearts and hashes

Or, see my DIY Guide to get the rest of your wall art.

I Heart You Times A Million

If you're interested in seeing where all of this "art" will go in my house, read on.

Here are my two nekkid galleries... numero uno, the dining area:

Zoom out a little and it smells like potential.

Despite the big hard drive crash of 2011 (another name for I-dropped-my-hard-drive-and-now-all-of-my-files-and-photos-are-gone-forever"), I managed to dig up a Master Bedroom before photo that I had captured on my phone. You can do me a favor and ignore the poor lighting.

The gallery wall After, which is getting there (as soon as I suck it up and paint the walls already). Let's call the frames on the wall a "good start."

As a bonus, here are the photos I tinted sepia in Photoshop and added above the dresser:

Why does everything look so classy in sepia?

Yeah, we were on a playground at the park. Sometimes you just can't say no to a friendly playground horse.

Anyway, keep on heading back here. There will be more creativity seeping out of this blog in the upcoming weeks!
